25 Days of Christmas: Day 21 - Christmas Vacation & Cookie Decorating

Free at last!  Free at last!  How every teacher child feels when that dismissal bell sounds at the end of the last school day before break!  Two full weeks of no grading homework, getting up early, or set schedules!  Bring on the free time, family time, holiday time!  Today was our final day before break, and when I picked my baby bird up from school today, we were equally as happy and excited for some much needed time off!

We drove straight out to Gigi's (MB's) to decorate some cookies with her, Marmie, and Lindsey.  The girls drug out their toys as usual and Ellie had a blast rearranging her Gigi's beautiful lit trees, while repeatedly saying, "These are very special to me."  They really are beautiful...

MB came as prepared to cookie decorating as I did to gingerbread house decorating.  Apparently, the apple doesn't fall far from that tree!  She had icing for each girl (blue, red, green, and Grinch green), a mini muffin tray with an assortment of sprinkles, and a cookie sheet where they could do their decorating for easy clean up.  We were too busy keeping Ellie from throwing sprinkles all over the kitchen decorating cookies to stop and take a picture, but we did get this great one of the group where you can sort of see the cookie decorating set up on the bar.

Here are links to the oversized cookie sheets and mini-muffin pans similar to the ones we used in case you need to tame the cookie decorating shenanigans going on your house.  Just be sure to buy enough for EACH child, because honestly, who wants to share when they are creating a masterpiece?  Amirite?!

For this reason, on Day 21, I'm giving three cheers for MB and her genius idea!  It kept the girls from fighting and her kitchen almost clean.
